The “Pouch Cotätoes” are an acappella singing group who have been together more thanten years, delivering five-part close harmony arrangements of contemporary songs dating from the 1950’s to 1980’s. Often mistaken for a barbershop quartet by the math-challenged, the Cotätoes are all accomplished performers in various genres of music, yet simply enjoy the freedom and energy that comes from leaving instruments aside and getting close to their audience with just their voices. Based in Ottawa, these gentlemen can often be heard on street corners across the city with their lively and fun-loving style as they engage in spontaneous ‘guerilla acappella’ wherever people gather.
